The Benefits of Massage
Renee will go over your goals for your massage before your session. She will customize your massage based on her understanding of different techniques and her knowledge of how massage and energy work can be effective treatments for specific issues.
Research has shown that massage therapy is an effective way to relieve tension and stress, recover from injuries, cope with chronic pain, and manage depression. Even a single massage session can reduce short-term anxiety, blood pressure, and heart rate. Multiple sessions can help with chronic anxiety, depression and pain.
For massage to be most effective as a form of treatment, regular treatments are recommended.
Integrating massage into your chronic pain management
Traditional chronic pain treatments help, but they do not make the pain and suffering completely go away. By adding massage to your treatment you may increase how well you function in the day-to-day. Renee will work with you to make a plan to manage your specific issues.
Massage can be an especially useful part of treatment for chronic neck pain, chronic lower back pain, and pain caused by osteoarthritis of the knee.

Massage as part of treatment for cancer
Renee regularly provides massages for people living with cancer as part of the American Cancer Society’s Wig Bank program, run locally by Lori Congdon, owner of Studio 210.
Massage therapy has been shown to help with cancer treatment by reducing pain, increasing relaxation, improving moods, and helping cope with the symptoms and side effects of treatment.
If you are in treatment for cancer and interested in messages from Renee, discuss it with your doctor to make sure it is right for you. Your first massage will be free and you will receive 10% off of all of your follow-up sessions.
